Ben Tolliday is an Australian music producer, mixer, and engineer, based in Los Angeles.
Ben has worked in the US, UK, Australia and New Zealand with artists as diverse as Alanis Morissette, London Symphony Orchestra, The Smashing Pumpkins and Lord Huron. Whilst studying cello at the Queensland Conservatorium, Ben formed experimental Brisbane ensemble Trinkets with acclaimed violinist Savannah Jo Lack, subsequently releasing two full-length albums and performing at major festivals including Woodford Folk Festival and Livid. In 2006 he relocated to London, where he became an engineer for UK producer Guy Sigsworth (Bjork, Alanis Morissette, Imogen Heap). In 2008 Ben returned to Australia, where he worked on albums by Wolfmother, Operator Please and Jackie Marshall & The Black Alles Band, among others. In 2010, Ben moved to the US, and has worked with The Smashing Pumpkins, Lord Huron, Humberto Gatica, Heath Cullen, Boys School, Jordie Lane, We Are The West, Scott Spark, Zenda Marie, and has recorded & mixed scores and soundtracks for film and television with composer Steven Argila. In 2012, whilst producing Heath Cullen’s album ‘The Still and the Steep’, Ben worked with legendary session players, including Jim Keltner, Marc Ribot and Larry Taylor.
